HUDSON — On February 17, a school bus driver in New Hampshire was captured on video assaulting three young children with disabilities.

The driver, identified as Virene Poliquin, is 68-years-old.

The assaults included slapping, kicking, grabbing, covering a mouth with her hand, and pouring water on one child.

Poliquin was arrested on nine counts of simple assault.

She posted $500 bail, and is scheduled for arraignment on April 6.

Poliquin had worked for Durham School Services, the company that operates the bus, since 2017.

School district Superintendent of Schools Dan Moulis confirmed at a news conference that Poliquin no longer worked for the company.

The police are now investigating whether Poliquin may have assaulted students on other dates. This incident has drawn concern and outrage among the community and authorities, given the vulnerability of the victims and the severity of the attacks.
