BRIDGEWATER — A 55-year-old man from Plymouth was involved in a single-vehicle crash in Bridgewater yesterday.

The crash took place on Route 4, at the intersection of Route 100, at around 8:00 p.m.

According to the report, the vehicle crashed into a brook.

The Bridgewater Fire Department, and Woodstock Rescue were also dispatched to the scene.

Police say they met with the driver, Jean Fabre, when they arrived.

Fabre told police that he was driving north on Route 100, when he was distracted, and failed to stop at the intersection of Route 4.

The vehicle traveled straight through the intersection and collided with guardrails on the opposite side of the intersection.

It should be noted the guard rails prevented the vehicle from dropping into the Ottauquechee River.
