Man arrested for assault, gun charge in Mount Holly

MOUNT HOLLY — A 46-year-old man was arrested following an incident in Mount Holly early this morning.

Authorities say they were notified of a family fight that occurred on Vermont Route 155 at around 12:10 a.m.

Police allege that Chad Woodard, of Mount Holly, had been armed with a deadly weapon which he was prohibited to possess.

He is also accused of threatening to use the deadly weapon against a family or household member.

Woodard is also accused of restraining a household member.

During the investigation, police say they observed Woodard display several indicators of impairment and was determined that he had operated a motor vehicle on a public highway.

Woodard was taken into custody for first-degree aggravated domestic assault, unlawful restraint second-degree, persons prohibited from possessing firearms, DUI #2, and transported to the Rutland State Police barracks for processing.

After processing, he was transported and lodged at the Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility to appear in court.
