Authorities say they were notified of an alleged assault that took place at a residence on Route 100 at around 11:30 p.m.
Police say they arrived on the scene, spoke with Sheldon Dix, of Whitingham, and investigated the assault.
An investigation at the scene revealed Dix had operated a motor vehicle with a juvenile in his custody.
Troopers at the scene observed signs of impairment and Dix was arrested for first-degree aggravated domestic assault, suspicion of DUI, and reckless endangerment.
He was lodged and held on $500 bail with a citation to appear in court on February 21 to answer the charges.
