Man arrested for damaging property, fleeing police in Marlborough

MARLBOROUGH — A 33-year-old man from Massachusetts was arrested following an incident in Marlborough early yesterday morning.

Authorities say they were notified of a domestic disturbance at a home at around 1:10 a.m.

According to the report, a subject on the scene was intoxicated and damaged property before leaving the home.

Police say they located the vehicle on Route 101 in Peterborough and initiated a traffic stop.

The driver failed to stop, and a pursuit was initiated.

The vehicle continued into Peterborough where officers from the Peterborough Police Department were able to deploy stop sticks and deflate the two front tires.

Despite the two front tires being deflated, the vehicle continued to flee from law enforcement and onto multiple back roads into Temple.

The vehicle eventually turned down a driveway onto a dead-end road and the pursuit came to an end when the driver was taken into custody without further incident.

The driver was identified as Mark Descoteaux, of Pepperell, MA.

He was arrested and transported to the Cheshire County House of Corrections and processed on charges of criminal mischief, breach of bail, disobeying an officer, driving while intoxicated, reckless operation, operating after suspension, possession of controlled drugs
