SUTTON — A 26-year-old man from Barton was charged with leaving the scene of an accident in Sutton on Monday
Authorities say they were notified of a vehicle that crashed into a telephone pole on US Route 5/Pumping Station Drive at around 5:50 p.m.
Witnesses on the scene observed the vehicle flee the scene prior to police arrival.
Approximately 4 hours later, police responded to a report of a vehicle off the road on Burton Hill Road.
The vehicle matched the description of the first crash.
Following an investigation, police say they identified the driver, identified as Dillan Prue, in Barton.
Prue was charged with leaving the scene of a crash in Caledonia County.
This incident is still under investigation pending further charges.
