POULTNEY — A 73-year-old man from New York was charged with sexual assault following an investigation opened in Poultney last year.
On October 5, 2022, authorities say they were notified of a sexual assault involving a juvenile under the age of 15.
The incident stemmed from an investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Department in Fort Edward, NY, into Miles Stevens, of Whitehall, NY.
With the assistance of Washington County Sheriff’s Department Investigators, probable cause was developed to charge Stevens with the offense of sexual assault.
He was issued a citation for sexual assault and is scheduled to appear in court on March 20.
He was released on his own recognizance.
