Man arrested for theft, resisting arrest in Nashua

NASHUA — A 24-year-old man was arrested in Nashua on Wednesday.

Police say they arrested Manuel Leandro Bedoya-Parra, for the offense of theft by unauthorized taking.

The value of the items stolen is estimated to be more than $1,500.

Bedoya-Parra was also charged with one count of resisting arrest and detention.

On February 2, police were notified of a local retail store for the report of shoplifting in progress at around 3:00 p.m.

Shortly after their arrival, Bedoya-Parra exited the store with several bags of unpaid merchandise.

Police say Bedoya-Parra was met by patrol officers outside of the store and he immediately fled.

They pursued him on foot and were ultimately successful in apprehending and arresting him.

Detectives of the Criminal Investigation Division further investigated and confirmed that Bedoya-Parra had stolen several items with a total retail value exceeding $1,500.

He was charged with a class A felony and a class A misdemeanor.

He was released on $100 cash bail and will be arraigned in court on March 9
