NORTHFIELD — A 65-year-old man was arrested in Northfield following an investigation that began last month.

On December 9, police say they received a call in regards to David Edson cashing checks from a victim.

The victim told police that they never wrote any checks to Edson.

Upon speaking to the Northfield Savings Bank, where the checks were cashed, it was found that Edson had cashed 3 different checks in the amount of $500, equaling $1,500.

Northfield Police were given pictures of the checks and of Edson making these deposits.

Police were also advised that Edson attempted a transaction from a second victim’s account in the amount of $1,000, however the bank thought it was odd and did not process it and called that second victim.

Edson was cited in court to answer to the charges of false token and forgery and counterfeiting.
