IRA — A 33-year-old man from Maine was charged with careless and negligent operation in Ira on Friday.
Police say they stopped a vehicle after observing multiple traffic violations on US 4 at around 6:15 p.m.
During the course of the traffic stop it was found that the vehicle was also the subject of an earlier be on the lookout for a vehicle that drove through the grass median and into the eastbound lanes of travel.
Police say the driver, identified as Alexander Tomasik, was screened for DUI, but found unimpaired by a drug recognition expert after further screening.
He was released on a citation to appear in court at a later date.
