Juvenile arrested after car chase, crash in Berlin

BERLIN — A juvenile was arrested in Northfield on New Year’s Day.

Northfield police say they observed a vehicle known to have been involved in a car chase with Montpelier police on January 1.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle but it attempted to flee for several miles.

The vehicle crashed at the intersection of Route 12 and Darling Road.

Police say the driver refused to get out and would not listen to directions.

After having gotten out of the car, the driver resisted arrest and kicked both officers.

The juvenile was arrested.

The juvenile was later released to a parent and cited into court for the charges of gross careless and negligent, assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, excessive speed, reckless endangerment, and eluding a police officer.
