LINCOLN — A 65-year-old man from Bristol was cited for his second DUI following a crash in Lincoln yesterday.
The single-vehicle crash took place on Lincoln Road, near the intersection with Briggs Hill Road, at around 7:20 p.m.
Police say that Peter Nelson was traveling west on Lincoln Road when he left the road.
The vehicle went airborne before striking a tree and coming to a position of uncontrolled rest off the eastbound lane.
While speaking with Nelson, police say they detected indicators of impairment.
He was transported by ambulance to UVM Medical Center, where a sample of his blood was taken as evidence.
He was then released to hospital staff with a citation to appear in court at a later date.
