West Rutland woman dies following Pittsfield crash

PITTSFIELD — Police say a 75-year-old woman from West Rutland has died following a single-vehicle crash in Pittsfield on January 3.

The crash took place on Vermont Route 100 at the Killington/Pittsfield town line at around 8:30 a.m.

According to the report, Barbara Cobb was traveling north before losing control of the vehicle due to the icy road conditions.

The vehicle went off the road and overturned onto its roof.

Cobb was entrapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by first responders.

She was then transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries.
