BRISTOL — A 38-year-old man from Essex Junction was arrested for his third DUI following an incident in Bristol yesterday.
Authorities say they were notified of a suspicious vehicle in the vicinity of Vermont Route 116 and Notch Road at around 9:05 p.m.
Police say the vehicle was stationary with the horn being activated.
Troopers spoke with the driver, identified as Scott Bennett.
Police say they observed indicators of impairment and Bennett was screened for DUI.
He was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI.
It was found that Bennett’s operator’s license was criminally suspended.
He was transported to the Middlebury Police Department for further evaluation.
Upon conclusion of the evaluation, Bennett was transported to the New Haven barracks for processing.
He was released with a citation to appear in court at a later date.
