MONTPELIER — A 47-year-old woman was arrested for DUI twice in one night in Montpelier.
Police say they initiated a traffic stop on Memorial Drive on December 30, at around 10:40 p.m.
The driver was observed to be impaired by alcohol and arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence.
Police say her vehicle was grounded in the parking lot where the stop occurred and she was transported to MPD for processing and released on a citation.
She was instructed to walk to her home a short distance away and leave her vehicle parked.
Police say instead she returned to her car and attempted to drive home.
Again, she was stopped and arrested for DUI.
Her vehicle was towed from the scene.
Police have not released her name at this time.
