New Hampshire Police rescue dog on icy bridge in Shelburne

SHELBURNE — Police say they have rescued a dog and located its owner after it was found in Shelburne.

Authorities were notified of a stray brindle colored hound dog located near the edge of an icy bridge on North Road at around 3:30 p.m.

New Hampshire State Trooper Neil Chapdelaine responded to the area and with the aid of a local dog trainer and others, was able to safely take custody of the dog.

The dog was not equipped with either a tag or identification chip and was transported to the Woodlands Veterinary Clinic in Lancaster.

The dog take to the care of the Riverside Animal Rescue in Lunenburg, and through soicl media posts, the owner was located.

Police say the dog was friendly and wearing a collar, so locating its owner was the priority after its rescue.
