MANCHESTER — Police say a 23-year-old woman from Lowell, Mass. was killed, and a Manchester, New Hampshire man was seriously injured during a crash this afternoon.
The two-vehicle crash took place on Route 495 south in Massachusetts at around 1:20 p.m.
According to the report, a 2018 Subaru Impreza driven by a 23-year-old woman was traveling in the middle lane of the three-lane highway south.
Simultaneously, a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 29-year-old man from Manchester was traveling north.
For reasons under investigation, police say the Chevrolet lost control and crossed all lanes and struck the guardrail.
The Chevrolet then went airborne and landed in the middle lane of the opposite side of the highway striking the Subaru head-on.
Police say the New Hampshire man was seriously injured.
The driver of the Subaru was pronounced deceased, and a passenger in her vehicle was also seriously injured.
Due to the severity of the injuries to the driver of the Chevrolet and passenger of the Subaru, life-flight was dispatched and responded to the scene.
Police have not released the names of the deceased or those injured at this time.
