Newport, New Hampshire woman charged as “drug enterprise leader”

NEWPORT — A 39-year-old woman is facing multiple charges following an investigation in Newport, New Hampshire that concluded last week.

In November and December, authorities say they conducted a joint investigation into the distribution of controlled substances in the town and surrounding Sullivan County area.

The investigation culminated in the execution of search and arrest warrants on December 21.

During the search, investigators located approximately 40 grams of suspected Fentanyl, 90 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 20 grams of suspected cocaine, and multiple firearms.

Police say Anastasia Kendall, of Newport, is charged with one count of being a drug enterprise leader, a special class felony carrying a mandatory minimum 25 years and maximum of life imprisonment.

She is also charged with two felony counts of sale of controlled drugs, and three felony counts of possession of controlled drugs with intent to distribute.

Kendall was also arrested by the Claremont Police Department on a warrant charging one felony count of conspiracy to commit witness tampering.

She was ordered held without bail pending arraignment in the Sullivan Superior Court.
