Woman in mobility scooter killed by car in Rochester

ROCHESTER — Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred in Rochester yesterday.

Authorities say a woman in a mobility scooter was struck by a vehicle traveling south on Columbus Avenue at around 1:55 p.m.

The road was shut down for 3 hours.

Police say they are not releasing the names of those involved at this time pending notifications to family.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation at this time while police continue to gather witness statements and await the completion of the accident reconstruction.
