SANBORNTON — A 50-year-old woman from New Hampshire was involved in a single-vehicle crash in Sanbornton.

The crash took place on I-93 south at around 9:05 a.m. on December 26.

According to the report, a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze failed to negotiate a curve in the road and drove off the left side in the median, crashing into several trees.

Police say the force of the impact with the trees was so great that the engine block completely separated from the rest of the vehicle.

The lone driver was identified as Kristine Laroche, of Franklin, NH.

She suffered serious bodily injuries and needed to be extricated from the vehicle by fire and rescue personnel.

She was transported to Concord Hospital for injuries.

The left lane of I-93 south was shut down for approximately 1 hour while the scene was processed and the vehicle was removed by Rusty’s towing service.
