MONTPELIER — A 31-year-old woman was arrested in Montpelier last week.
On December 17, authorities were notified of an individual walking in and out of the road on Main Street at around 8:35 a.m.
Police located the involved party nearby and found that they were intoxicated.
They continued to walk in the road, obstructing traffic in police presence.
Police say the woman had court-ordered conditions of release prohibiting the consumption of alcohol and engaging in violent, threatening, or tumultuous behavior.
While being taken into custody, she reportedly bit an MPD officer and resisted arrest, in addition to damaging the camera equipment inside the police vehicle.
Due to the nature of the incident, Washington County Mental Health Services was consulted.
She was charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct, violation of conditions of release, simple assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, and unlawful mischief.
Police have not released the name of the suspect at this time.
