POWNAL — A 52-year-old man was arrested in Pownal yesterday.
Police say they observed a motor vehicle violation on Church Street at around 9:35 p.m.
Police made contact with the driver, identified as Louin Norton, of Pownal, and observed several indicators of alcohol impairment.
Norton also had a criminally suspended driver’s license.
He was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and was transported to the Shaftsbury barracks for processing.
At the end of the processing, he was released with a citation to a sober party.
He faces charges of his fourth driving under the influence – criminal refusal charge, and criminal driving license suspended charge.
