JERICHO — A 30-year-old man was arrested for first-degree aggravated assault in Jericho early this morning.
Authorities were notified of a domestic assault that occurred at a home at around 2:30 a.m.
Police allege that Brandon Bessette, of Jericho, had attempted to cause serious bodily injury to a family member with a deadly weapon.
Bessette was located at the home and taken into custody without incident.
He was transported to the Williston State Police barracks for processing.
He was lodged per order of the court at Northwest State Correctional Facility for lack of $5,000 bail.
He is due to appear in court on December 12 to answer to the charge.
