LEICESTER — A 46-year-old woman from Essex Junction was cited for negligent operation in Leicester yesterday.
Authorities say they were conducting a speed enforcement near the intersection of US Route 7 and Maple Run Road at around 9:15 a.m.
Police say they observed a gray sedan traveling south on US Route 7 at 84 miles-per-hour in a 50 miles-per-hour zone.
The sedan was stopped without incident and the driver was identified as a Brenda Bergman.
Police say that Bergman’s vehicle was approaching two motorists at a high rate of speed at the time of the witnessed offense.
She was issued a citation to appear in court for the offense at a later date.
