Woman charged after clocked doing 107 mph on I-89 in Georgia

GEORGIA — A 42-year-old woman from Highgate was cited for negligent operation in Georgia early this morning.

Police say they were conducting speed enforcement on I-89 north at around 12:30 a.m.

The speed limit is 65 miles-per-hour.

Police say they confirmed via radar a vehicle was traveling 107 mph, which is 42 miles-per-hour above the posted speed limit.

The vehicle was stopped without incident and the driver was identified as Dara Sonhthaya.

Sonhthaya was issued a citation to appear in court for the offense of negligent operation.
