RUTLAND — A 29-year-old man was arrested for assault and robbery following an incident in Rutland on Tuesday.
Authorities say they were notified of a commercial hold-up alarm at a convenience store on North Main Street at around 1:55 p.m.
Police say they spoke with store employees who reported a suspect had just entered the store and demanded property stating he had a weapon when they arrived.
The suspect then fled the location after obtaining property from the business.
Police say they spotted the suspect who fled on foot from officers.
Rutland City Police Officers were able to locate and arrest the man who was identified as Zackary Gouette.
Gouette was ordered held without bail pending trial.
He was lodged at Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility.
Police say no injuries were reported during this incident.
