RUTLAND CITY — Police are still investigating a fatal shooting that took place in Rutland City yesterday.
Authorities were notified of a motor vehicle crash in the area of State Street and Cleveland Avenue at around 4:15 p.m.
A second call reported a shooting in the area.
Police say they located a deceased man with a vehicle that was involved in a crash when they arrived.
There was a significant police presence in the vicinity of State Street from Emmett Street to Cleveland Street.
Multiple area roads were shut down for an extended period of time due to this investigation.
No arrests have been made at this point.
At this time, police do not believe there is a greater threat to the community, however, police encourage residents to report suspicious behavior.
