SHAFTSBURY — A 52-year-old man was arrested following an incident in Shaftsbury on Sunday.
Authorities say they were notified that a woman was reportedly in distress at a home on Furnace Road at around 12:40 a.m.
During their response, police were updated that the caller was hiding from a family member after he allegedly assaulted her.
Following an investigation, police say all parties were accounted for and determined that the available evidence supported the victim’s claim.
Jason A. Volpi, of Shaftsbury, was arrested.
He was brought to the Shaftsbury barracks and cited for the charge of first-degree aggravated domestic assault.
