MONTPELIER — A 62-year-old man was arrested following a bizarre incident in Montpelier.
On October 22, authorities say they were notified of multiple reports of an intoxicated individual who disrobed in public on Main Street at around 2:10 p.m.
Police say they made contact to check his welfare at which point he fondled himself in full view of officers and passersby.
Following an investigation, police say that the man was arrested.
Due to the nature of the incident, MPD was assisted by Washington County Mental Health.
Police say he faces charges of lewd and lascivious conduct.
