NEW HAVEN — A 43-year-old man from Burlington was arrested following an incident in New Haven yesterday.
Police say they responded to an anonymous tip regarding the whereabouts of Ralph Desmarais, who was wanted for sexual exploitation and luring of a child.
Troopers located Desmarais at the Sugar House Motel, at which time he attempted to flee.
He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the New Haven barracks for processing.
During processing, Desmarais provided two false identities in an attempt to implicate others.
He was lodged at the Northwest State Correctional Facility with a citation to appear in court at a later date for the charges of arrest on a warrant, false reports to law enforcement, and resisting arrest.
Troopers were assisted by the Middlebury Police Department.
