FAIR HAVEN — A 37-year-old man from Rutland was arrested two times by Fair Haven police.

On September 27, police were called to Carl Durfees Department Store on Main Street for a reported theft at around 12:15 p.m.

Police allege that Randy E. Klinger entered the store and grabbed a pair of boots, and left without paying for them.

On his way out, police say Klinger pushed a store clerk that asked him to stop causing them to fall against a vehicle parked out front.

On Sunday, police say they arrested Klinger again, following an investigation into another reported theft.

On October 8, police were called to Jiffy Mart after a donation jar was stolen.

Following an investigation, police allege that Klinger stole the donation jar concealing it under his jacket, before fleeing the store.

The jar contained a small amount of money raised for a children’s charity.

He was arrested and issued a citation to appear in court to answer to the charge.
