Three-vehicle crash in Mendon

MENDON — Police responded to a three-vehicle crash in Mendon yesterday.

The Vermont State Police, along with the Rutland City Fire Department, was dispatched to Meadow Lake Drive at the intersection of US Route 4, at around 9:45 a.m.

According to the report, Charles Hemenway, 81, of Rutland, had stopped at the stop sign at the intersection prior to the crash.

Kristie Adams, 54, of Pittsford, was traveling east on Meadow Lake Drive and was slowing to a stop behind Hemenway.

At the same time, Matthew Sullivan, 60, of Proctor, was traveling east and failed to observe Adams slowing to a stop ahead of him and collided with her vehicle.

Adams was then pushed into Hemenway.

There were no injuries reported from this crash.

The Vermont State Police were assisted at the scene by members of the Rutland City Fire Department as well as Killington Auto.
