ROCKINGHAM — Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred in Rockingham yesterday.

Authorities were notified of a bullet lodged in the north-facing exterior wall of a home on Cambridgeport Road, near the intersection with Anderson Road, at around 6:00 p.m.

Police say they investigated the State Forest area located to the north of the home and collected multiple shell casings.

Police say it does not appear to be a targeted event, but rather individuals target practicing without adequate awareness of their target backstop.
