NEWPORT — A 25-year-old man from Eden was arrested on a warrant in Newport yesterday.
Police say they were made aware of a person currently incarcerated at the Northern State Correctional facility who was wanted out of the state of New York.
An extraditable arrest warrant had been issued for Shawn M. Miller.
Police say the warrant was for the charges of criminal possession of a weapon, 3 counts of an aggravated family offense, 2 counts of criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, menacing in the 2nd degree, and unlawful imprisonment.
Miller was charged as a fugitive from justice in Vermont and is scheduled to face an extradition hearing today.
