TROY — A 33-year-old man is facing multiple charges following an incident in Troy early this morning.
Authorities say they were notified of an ongoing domestic assault at a home on Vermont Route 100, at around 12:40 a.m.
Police allege that Thomas Rooney, of Troy, attempted to cause serious bodily injury to a family member and threatened to use a deadly weapon on a family member in the presence of a child.
Rooney had fled the home before police arrived, and they were unable to locate him.
He is currently wanted by police for the charges of 1st degree aggravated domestic assault, offense committed within the presence of a child, and interference with access to emergency services.
A $50,000 warrant for Rooney’s arrest has been issued, police say.
