Man arrested in Monkton for trespass, violation of stalking order

MONKTON — A 66-year-old man was arrested following an incident in Monkton on Friday.

Authorities say they were notified that John Gargano, of Monkton, had violated a stalking order and was also trespassing inside an unoccupied residence on North Camp Road at around 8:00 p.m.

Police say Gargano refused to exit the home when they arrived.

A search warrant was later granted allowing troopers to enter the residence and place Gargano under arrest without incident.

He faces charges of violation of a stalking order and unlawful trespass.

He was transported to the New Haven barracks for processing.

At the conclusion of processing, he was conditionally released with a citation.
