SPRINGFIELD — A 33-year-old man from Swanton was captured while trying to escape from prison in Springfield last week.
On August 24, police say they observed an inmate climbing a fence within the facility, slipping between the top of the gate and the razor wire.
This inmate was identified as Dustin Deberville.
Police say he was taken into custody by staff members moments after they first observed his actions.
When taken into custody, police say Deberville was still on facility grounds with two more fences that he would have needed to pass in order to completely exit the facility grounds.
Police say he planned the escape attempt himself and was in possession of a small number of supplies.
