LOWELL — A 24-year-old man from Newport was killed during a single-vehicle crash in Lowell yesterday.
The incident took place on Vermont Route 58 at around 10:15 p.m.
Police say shortly after the arrival of emergency medical services, Shane Copp, a passenger in the vehicle, was pronounced deceased.
According to the report, the 2004 Dodge truck was traveling west on Vermont Route 58 prior to the crash.
The driver was identified as Benjamin Chambers, 22, of Lowell.
Chambers was navigating a sweeping left-hand corner when he lost control of the vehicle.
The truck traveled off the road where it struck a guardrail and overturned multiple times.
Trooper Abigail Drew says the crash investigation remains ongoing, and police are working with the Orleans County State’s Attorney’s Office on possible criminal charges.
