SHELDON — A 69-year-old woman from Richford has died following a crash that took place in Sheldon yesterday.
The two-vehicle crash was reported on Route 105, near Route 236, at around 9:20 a.m.
Rescue personnel on the scene told police that one of the drivers, identified as Winona Jette, 61, of Richford, was deceased when they arrived.
The other driver, identified as Heather Skilling, 69, of Richford, was transported to the Northwest Medical Center for treatment.
Members of the crash reconstruction team responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.
Initial evidence, along with witness statements, indicates that Jette was traveling east on Route 105 before crossing the center line and hitting Skilling head-on.
