BENSON — A 30-year-old man from New Jersey was involved in a rollover crash in Benson yesterday.
Authorities were notified of a single tractor-trailer unit crash on Vermont Route 22A at around 3:20 a.m.
Following an investigation, it was found that the driver, Roussel Pointdujour, of Irvington, NJ, was traveling north when his vehicle drove off the right side of the paved road surface causing it to drive into a low-lying ditch.
Police say the vehicle came to a position of uncontrolled rest in the ditch on its side on a power pole.
State Police were assisted by members of the Benson Fire Department, Fair Haven Fire Department, Orwell Fire Department, Fair Haven Rescue Squad, Green Mountain Power, Vermont Agency of Transportation, and the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles Enforcement & Safety Division.
Police say the vehicle was removed from the scene by Earle’s Truck Repair.
