MONKTON — A 66-year-old man was cited for disorderly conduct following an incident in Monkton on Sunday.

Authorities say they were notified of a noise disturbance on North Pond Road at around 8:50 p.m.

Sean Reilly, 58, of Monkton, told police that there was a loud generator on the adjacent property to his.

Troopers arrived on the scene and noticed the generator was warm and had recently been shut off.

Police say attempts to contact John Gargano, 66, of Monkton, at his home and were unsuccessful.

Yesterday at around 12:40 a.m. it was reported Gargano had returned to the camp, turned the generator back on, and was screaming threats at Reilly.

Police say that the generator was not plugged in and was being used solely to cause a disturbance.

As such, Gargano created a public annoyance and inconvenience when engaging in such behavior.

He was issued a citation to appear in court on September 12 to answer the charge.
