TOWNSHEND — A 41-year-old woman was arrested for aggravated domestic assault following an incident in Townshend last month.

On June 15, authorities say they were notified of a domestic disturbance that took place at a home on Vermont Route 30.

Following an investigation, police allege that Sarah Weitzel, of Townshend, had assaulted a household member.

Police say Weitzel refused to speak with them or surrender herself for arrest.

A warrant was prepared and granted.

Today, police received a call regarding an unrelated incident at the same home.

Troopers responded to investigate and located Weitzel at the scene.

Weitzel was arrested on a warrant and was processed at the Westminster State Police barracks.

She was lodged at the Southern State Correctional facility on $5,000 bail.

She is scheduled to appear in court today.
