DERBY — A 43-year-old man from Newport was seriously injured during a single-vehicle crash in Derby yesterday.
Authorities were notified of a motorcycle crash on Beebe Road at around 4:45 p.m.
The driver was identified as Brian Mercer, who police say had driven off the road while traveling north.
Mercer was transported to North Country Hospital by Newport Ambulance.
He was later flown by helicopter to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for the extent of his injuries.
