WILLIAMSTOWN — A 23-year-old man from Barre City was arrested for DUI and simple assault following an incident in Williamstown yesterday.
Authorities say they were notified of a vehicle that had driven into a ditch on Rood Pond Road at around 10:55 p.m.
According to the report, the driver, identified as Jesse Rogers, was intoxicated and had assaulted another party who had stopped to help him.
Troopers with the Vermont State Police responded to the scene.
While speaking with Rogers indicators of impairment were detected.
He was taken into custody for suspicion of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
He was issued a citation to appear in court on July 20 and released.
