BARRE — A 40-year-old man from Williamstown was arrested for possession of heroin in Barre yesterday.

Police say they initiated a traffic stop following an observed motor vehicle violation on North Main Street at around 8:50 p.m.

During the stop, police say they developed probable cause that there were drugs in the vehicle.

A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded heroin belonging to David Lefebvre.

David Lefebvre was taken into custody and transported to the Vermont State Police Berlin barracks for processing.

He was issued a citation to appear in court and released.
