POWNAL — A 49-year-old man from North Bennington was injured during a single-vehicle rollover crash in Pownal yesterday.
Authorities were notified of the crash and entrapment on Hidden Valley Road at around 3:20 p.m.
Police say no shoulder on Hidden Valley Road caused the vehicle to roll down the embankment before reaching a position of rest.
The driver, identified as Michael Koelker, told police that he was traveling on Hidden Valley Road when he observed an all-terrain vehicle traveling toward his vehicle.
Police say Koelker said he attempted to move over slightly for the ATV because of the narrow road.
This maneuver caused Koelker’s passenger side of the vehicle to leave the road and roll down the embankment before reaching a position of rest.
Pownal Rescue transported him to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.
Police say there was no ATV at the location of the crash.
State Police were assisted by Pownal Rescue, Pownal Fire Department, and All Service Citgo Towing.
