SOUTH HERO — A 40-year-old man was arrested following an incident in South Hero yesterday.

Authorities say they were notified of a domestic incident occurring on Hill Road at around 8:40 p.m.

Ronald Mitchell, 41, of Colchester, called to advise that he was receiving messages from his son that an altercation had occurred between Jason Hill, 40, of South Hero, and a woman at the home.

When Mitchell arrived at the home, he was allegedly assaulted outside by Hill.

Further information was received that Hill had interfered with the woman attempting to use her phone to call for help.

Police say Hill was taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Saint Albans State Police barracks for processing.

He was later released on a flash citation to appear in court to answer to the charges of interfering with access to emergency services and simple assault.
