Police use taser arresting man on Winooski River Bridge

WINOOSKI — A 54-year-old man from Burlington was arrested following an incident in Winooski yesterday.

Authorities say they were notified of a man standing on the Winooski River Bridge on the northbound side of I-89 at around 7:10 p.m.

Police say they located Christopher Bousquet standing on the bridge in the breakdown lane when they arrived.

Police say he attempted to flee from them by walking down the interstate.

Troopers attempted to take Bousquet into custody, at which point he began to resist by shoving troopers.

After a brief altercation and use of a TASER, Bousquet was taken into custody without injury.

Bousquet was transported to the Williston barracks for processing.

He was later released on a citation to answer the charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assault on a protected professional.

State Police was assisted in this incident by the Winooski Police Department, Colchester Police Department, and Williston Fire Department.
