HINESBURG — A 31-year-old man from Lincoln was involved in a single-vehicle crash in Hinesburg yesterday.

The crash took place on Silver Street, near Lewis Creek Road, at around 7:15 a.m.

The vehicle was located on its side in the embankment at the crash scene, with a powerline down.

Following an investigation, police say that the sole driver, Jason Cousino, was traveling north on Silver Street before the crash.

Cousino told police that he swerved his vehicle to avoid hitting a bear who crossed his path.

He tried to correct himself but lost control and hit the powerline.

Cousino was not injured during the crash.

The vehicle was removed by Don Weston Excavating INC.

Troopers were assisted by Hinesburg Fire Department.
