Window smashed, purse stolen at Park and Ride in Woodstock

WOODSTOCK — Police are investigating a burglary that occurred in Woodstock yesterday.

Authorities say they were notified of possible vandalism at the East End Park and Ride parking lot at around 9:50 p.m.

Following an investigation, it was found that unknown persons had smashed out the front passenger door window and the victim’s purse was stolen from the seat between 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Police say the purse was described as a black leather purse with a silver chain.

The incident remains under investigation.

Anyone having information about the theft or observing any suspicious persons or vehicles in the area of the East End Park and Ride around the hours listed is asked to contact Chief Blish.

Police are reminding everyone not to leave any valuables visible in their vehicles when leaving them unattended.

It can take a thief less than 30 seconds to smash a window and be gone with your property.
